Portsmouth Business School

Founded in 1985, Portsmouth Business School, part of the Faculty of Business and Law since 1994, is situated in the historic and entrepreneurial city of Portsmouth on England’s South Coast. Between March and December 2020, 1,970 new businesses were registered in the area, making us a prime hub for small businesses and start-ups in the Solent Region.

Established in 2016, their Small Business Team actively engages with businesses to understand their needs and foster collaborations. Working closely with Innovation Connect, Careers and Employability, and regional stakeholders like Portsmouth City Council, Isle of Wight Council and Solent LEP, the team emphasises a two-way, “outward in approach” with business contacts.

This collaborative mindset led to the successful Entrepreneurs in Residence Scheme, featuring 30 entrepreneurs who provide support and guidance to students, academics, and businesses alike.
