Cowes and Northwood Place Plan

Cowes and Northwood
Place Plan

The objective of the Cowes and Northwood Place Plan is to provide a menu of actions for positive change consistent with the lived experience of local people, the aspirations of local businesses and organisations, and the strategic context provided by local plans and policies.

Ryde Place Plan

Ryde’s Place Plan provides actions for positive change and regeneration across its priority retail and seafront areas and setting the whole within a context that characterises the town. The methodology for the work is a literature review covering the last 15 years, extracting consistent and coherent themes, topics and public opinions that can be applied to place based regeneration in Ryde.

Shaping Newport Place Plan

A Place Plan for Newport was commissioned by Newport Parish Council, Newport Business Association, and the Isle of Wight Council.

It was intended to deliver:

  • Better perception of trust and commitment by residents and commerce
  • Public awareness of the new (IWC) regeneration programme and its aims
  • A better understanding of local issues to help shape future service delivery and a more co-ordinated way of working with the resources available
  • New, mutually beneficial, partnership ways of working between the Newport Area and the Council.

Bay Area Place Plan

The Bay Area Place Plan is the result of an action-based research project. The plan seeks to influence policy and delivery in the Bay Area of the Isle of Wight.

The plan aims to be a catalyst for change in internal community perceptions as well as external perceptions. The process of plan preparation has sought to establish an understanding of the lived experiences of different communities in the area. Through this understanding of the links between the socio-economic and cultural components of different communities in the area, this report offers on holistic Bay-wide solutions alongside more precise, site-based interventions.

IWC Regeneration Strategy

This 2019-2030 Regeneration Strategy for the Isle of Wight aims to set out how the council is leading the agenda to ensure the economic future of the Island and create the Island that is a great place to grow up, live, work and visit. The strategy sets out where we are today and the actions and activities we believe will enable the vision for the future to be realised.
